Final Fantasy X remake
January 3, 2012, 7:33AM

"Announced at TGS back in September, Final Fantasy X is in the early stages of development according to an update from Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase. However, it's more than just an HD remaster of the PS2 title, the re-release for PS3 and Vita will be more along the lines of an actual "remake".
Kitase explained to German magazine M! Games (via PSLS) in a recent interview that he will â??ensure that the remake of the game will have the same quality as the original.â?

While he produced the original Final Fantasy X, it's still not clear what kind of role he'll play in the remake.

Re: Final Fantasy X remake
February 6, 2012, 11:49PM

"This past September, Square-Enix made a surprise announcement. Even though fans have been clamoring most for remakes of past Final Fantasy games like VI and (especially) VII, the famous RPG developer and publisher revealed that it would instead by working on a re-release of the PlayStation 2-era RPG Final Fantasy X.

Final Fantasy X HD will be coming to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, Square-Enix revealed, though details about the game itself have been virtually non-existent.

However, we now have a little more clarity on just what Final Fantasy X HD will be. According to Andriasang, Shinji Hashimoto, a famed Square-Enix producer, confirmed that Final Fantasy X HD is to be considered more of a "remaster" than an outright remake. These comments came from the Taipei Game Show, where inquiring game journalists wanted to know more about the mysterious game-to-be.

As Andriasang points out, "Remaster refers to HD updates like ICO and Shadow of the Colossus rather than full remakes."

Nonetheless, if Shinji Hashimoto is indeed working on Final Fantasy X HD, there's reason to be optimistic. Hashimoto has served as producer on classics like Front Mission, Final Fantasy IX and Kingdom Hearts. He's also served as executive producer on titles such as Tobal, Tobal 2, Einhander, Ehrgeiz, Front Mission 4, Final Fantasy IV Advance, Final Fantasy V Advance, Final Fantasy VI Advance, The World Ends With You and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep.

Re: Final Fantasy X remake

According to the latest issue of Shonen Jump it has been revealed that the HD version of Final Fantasy X will be joined by it's direct sequel Final Fantasy X-2.

FFXHD-Jump-Info_03-19-600x800.jpg

The image above clearly shows that FFX-2 is coming to PS3 and Vita what has also been said that the PS3 disc-version contains both but the Vita will have two separate downloads.

Also it has been confirmed that they will both be the International versions of each games which means for the first time Americans can take on the Dark Aeons and Penance while the rest of the world can get there hands in to the extra story featured at the end of X-2.

What do you g1s think of these news? I for one am glad they decided to release both and not just leave it with just X. I'm also one of the few fans of X-2 having racked up a 200 hour save and got the 100% completion.
